Blog/Podcasts > Design as a Weapon....
I don't know if these are the types of ideas we are looking for but this is what I found:
1. When Type Becomes Art: I read an article with this title that talked about 4 designers custom typography and how you can tweak and transform type into compelling and memorable imagery. I thought that was an interesting topic with some interesting images in the article and typography is an important part in design.

2. Elevating the Everyday: This is from another article I read that I found interesting. It talks about how finding a good idea can be like winning the lottery sometimes, how sometimes nothing seems to spark your imagination, but how you need to train yourself to look at ordinary objects in a new way because it can be a powerful source of inspiration.

3. This kind of has to do with the same concept of visual noise but it is the concept of "type crimes and misdemeanors." The misuse of type or things Designers can do with type that can make clients cringe or ruin the design.

4. Recharging your batteries: I know a lot of us feel like we run out of gas sometimes and get frustrated when we can't think of new ideas so I found this article intriguing. It talks about play is a key element in creativity and how you can not be freely creative without play. How everyone needs something or some kind of activity to look forward to and have a retreat from design. This may not have to do with this article but could be another idea but the play concept also reminds me of a workshop I went to at Design Camp about Children at Play. How children just want to know, how when we grow up we don't want to fail even though thats when the best stuff happens, and how we have to learn to not stay inside the lines.

Finding inspiration in everything
Collaborative Design
Design as a lifestyle- everything relates back to design
Something about what sets us apart from a 15 year old kid with a mac
Designer personalities (stereotypes), what different people bring to the table

An idea i had was sparked by conversation in class on tuesday. When we were talking about blogs, and wanting to create interaction with the viewer. Anyone heard of the band "Mae"- they have an album out title "the everglow". Its basically a visual and listening experience, because while you listen to the CD, you have a booklet that goes along with it to provide visual imagery. I am not sure if maybe we could do something like that with blogs instead of music. Where there would be a booklet of visual imagery- nothing too clear, but that would illustrate blogs that we have online. Something like that- to help create interaction, and to just spark interest on WHO we are, and the show.
With that i am interested in the idea Diana brought up- in the power of pictures, i think that would be an area to explore- getting people to think visually before they come to our show.

I found an interesting article discussing designers are now lacking a point of view in the products they design, its no longer conceptual its all about the business. It's talks about creating more art and culture in design and less probelm solving and business. Maybe we can consider showing how we are incoporating the conceptual into our design and how unique each of us are.

I also like Diana's idea about the critique. As design students we're faced with alot of criticism, we should make this aware.
