The company I work for www.getworksimple.com (based in Uptown, near Calhoun square) is looking for a young designer. Wondering if you know of anyone or could recommend a recent Stoutie grad who has some digital graphic design chops and wants a gig? It's a cool, small startup, flexible, open, lots of team input and group thinking. We're still shaping the product and need someone who has some digital design focus and wants to really shape and polish he rough edges of the brand.

We are currently in search for two interns to join our creativeteam at Imation Corp. for the 2011 summer. There are two positions available, one in the Graphic Design team, and the other in the Industrial Design department. I have previously worked with Noah Norton on the Industrial Design position, and he has done a great job at advertising the information to the students. However, we are just now posting the Graphic Design position.

We would like to quickly fill these positions for the coming summer, and are in search of two willing and eagerstudents and/or new grads.

After mentioning the UW-Stout Student Senior shows taking place on Friday May 13th to the broader team, there has been increased interest from multiple coworkers to attend the shows. Since we are in the process of searching and interviewing interns, I wanted to check in with the department to see if there would be anyway that we could set up informal interviews for students that were interested on May 13th. Previously I know that peers have done the same, and have been successful in their hires. For example, I was actually hired on at 3M after interviewing as a student early in the day of my Senior Show. I understand that with the announcement of the MFA program and the opening of the School of Art and Design, that programming will begin earlier in the day than typical. However, I can't think of a better way to highlight my Alma Mater to my coworkers; while also offering up a great opportunity for two Stout Students. Myself and coworkers would be available to set up interviews anytime during the day.

Please let me know who I need to get in touch with in order to set up such opportunity. I greatly look forward to meeting with students, and finding a great fit for both of these positions.

Best,

Katie Thompson
